Riverside welcomes its first tenants
The Riverside Building, the prestigious Scruton development on the banks of the River Humber in Hessle, is now home to its first tenants, the LHL Group of building surveyors and architects.
Previously known as Lightly & Lightly, the company has had a base in Hull for over 20 years, latterly in offices at Grammar School Yard in the Old Town. LHL Group Hull office director, Richard Hampshire, said:
“In relocating, we were seeking a property that was modern, accessible and green with a professional image as well as being an attractive place to work and to enable us to recruit additional staff. The Riverside Building is a fine development which meets these criteria.”
Nick Pearce, of PPH Commercial, the Riverside’s agents, added:
“The developers Scrutons and builders Houltons have done a fantastic job in creating this landmark building with its spectacular views of the Humber Bridge and river. We have had a terrific amount of interest in the property from potential tenants who want to benefit from developing their businesses in such a high-quality, high-specification environment.
“The eye-catching exterior, with its glazed blue and terracotta tiles and polished blocks, has a real ‘wow’ factor. The interior fixtures and finishes include enhanced acoustics, top of the range lighting and Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware. The reaction from potential clients to this detailing has been extremely positive.”
The Riverside Building offers some 18,000 sq ft of prime office space, in suites from 1,510 sq ft. The design makes use of comfort cooling and solar power, and is Disability Discrimination Act compliant, with lift access to all floors. The building has also received a very good BREEAM rating.
The development is on a prestigious site at the gateway to Hull, in a commercially strategic location. With panoramic river views, the building is surrounded by landscaped grounds with 70 dedicated car parking spaces.
It also enjoys excellent transport links, to Hull, the rest of the UK and Europe – via road, rail, air and ferry. It is close to local amenities including shopping and a health/fitness centre.
